Family Dentistry

What is family dentistry?

Family dentistry means we can provide all of your family’s general dentistry needs under one roof. At Spring Creek Dentistry, we truly are a family practice, and we are happy to accept patients of all ages from all walks of life – from baby teeth to dentures. Oral hygiene, disease and decay prevention, and tooth health are at the forefront of our family practice, and we do everything we can to make sure your experience with us is relaxed, comfortable, and convenient.

Convenience is Key

At Spring Creek Dentistry, we understand that family life can be a bit chaotic at times. From band practice, to PTA meetings, to ballet recitals, your schedule is jam packed, which can make it difficult to get everyone in for their regular dental checkups. That’s why we are happy to offer you, our Spring TX patients, family appointment blocks to help you get everyone in, out, and back to your busy schedule and the things that matter most – with a smile!

Children’s Dentistry

One common misconception is that pediatric dentistry is not all that important because baby teeth are only going to fall out anyway – we would like to put an end to this myth immediately. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Baby teeth set the stage for adult teeth to grow in properly, and when they’re not well-cared for, it could lead to a host of dental problems later in life.

Did you know that tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children in America, and that left untreated, it can lead to pain, infections, and difficulty with eating, speaking, and even learning? We want your kids to grow up happy and healthy as much as you do, that’s why we’re proud to offer a range of children’s dental services:

Caring for Baby Teeth

We all know that the best way to instill healthy habits and values is to start at an early age, especially when it comes to oral health and hygiene. Here’s some advice straight from the professionals at Spring Creek Dentistry on how to keep your baby’s teeth clean for a lifetime of happy, healthy smiles.

  1. You should start cleaning your baby’s gums before teeth come in. Gently wipe them using a warm wet rag or baby brush after feeding.
  2. Bring your baby in to see us as soon as their first tooth emerges, which is usually around 1 year of age.
  3. Use a children’s toothbrush (soft bristle, small head, large handle) and a small amount of fluoride toothpaste.
  4. You should brush your child’s teeth for them until they are able to hold the brush themselves.
  5. Continue to supervise brushing until they are able to rinse and spit without assistance, usually around age 6.
  6. Maintain their regular, twice yearly visits at Spring Creek Dentistry.
